The seminar was attended by a distinguished guest from Almaty — Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Geography, Land Management, and Cadastre of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Head of the Republican Specialized School of Geography, “Honored Worker of Kazakhstan,” Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Editor-in-Chief of the republican scientific-methodological journals Herald of the Republican Specialized School of Geography and Turkic-speaking Countries, Honorary Professor of Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute — Professor Ulzhalgas Amzekyzy Yesnazarova.

During the seminar, Professor Yesnazarova presented the methodological features of the new course Geography of Turkistan Region, published in 2025 and officially recommended by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for use in secondary schools.

The seminar was moderated by Aina Karataevna Daulekova, a methodologist of the city’s Department of Education. The event was hosted at School-Lyceum No. 28 in Turkistan. The school’s director, Lyazzat Zhanaliyevna Nysankulova, together with the teaching staff, warmly welcomed the guests. She highlighted that from this year the school will offer elective courses on Geography of Turkistan Region and Geography of Turkic-speaking Countries. In honor of Professor Yesnazarova, the author of the Geography of Turkic-speaking Countries textbook (written in Kazakh and translated into Russian, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, and Turkish), a dedicated classroom named “Geography of Turkic-speaking Countries” was opened.

As the author of both textbooks, Professor Yesnazarova elaborated on the significance of Turkistan Region for Kazakhstan, the historical importance of the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, and the role of local geography courses in fostering patriotic citizenship.

During the seminar, teachers actively shared their thoughts and exchanged ideas. At the end, participants took a commemorative photo together.
