Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, held talks with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Kazakhstan Silas Thangal.
Issues of strengthening cooperation and expanding partnership between KazNU and Indian universities were discussed at the meeting. The head of the university, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, presented the latest achievements of the university to the honorary Ambassador and shared plans for further work.

In his speech, the rector noted the dynamic development of partnerships between KazNU and Indian universities. To date, 10 Indian universities are working closely with KazNU. However, it is necessary to further intensify cooperation in the field of science, student exchange, and joint training of qualified specialists.
"Most students from India choose the Faculty of Medicine. This proves that there is a high demand. In the future, it is very important to attract students to other specialties at KazNU. In addition, both sides should hold joint conferences and create conditions for internships for scientists. Libraries in India also have data on the history of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, and university scientists are ready to conduct scientific research", - Zhanseit Tuimebayev said.

In turn, Ambassador Silas Thangal noted that he supports all the initiatives announced at the meeting and will make every effort to develop partnership between KazNU and leading universities in India.

After the meeting, Silas Thangal met with Indian students studying at KazNU. The Ambassador listened to the suggestions of the young people and encouraged them to study well.

It should be noted that currently 503 students from India are studying at al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
