Teachers of the Department of Mathematics Participate in a Scientific Conference

From September 15 to 19, Faculty from the Department of Mathematics Shakir Aidos and Murat Mukhambetkaliyev participated in the IX International Conference "Advanced Computational Methods in ENgineering and Applied Mathematics" at Ghent University (Ghent, Belgium). More than 150 researchers and scientists from 37 countries participated in the conference. The following world-class scientists were especially honored to give plenary talks:
- Peter Bastian (University of Heidelberg)
"Coupled shallow surface and subsurface flow with application to high mountain catchments"
- Jerome Droniou (University of Montpellier)
"The Discrete De Rham method for electromagnetic models: from Maxwell to Yang-Mills to manifolds"
- Jan S. Hesthaven (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT))
"Time-domain Reduced Order Models through the Laplace Transform"
- Barbara Kaltenbacher (Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt)
"Forward and Inverse Problems in Nonlinear Acoustics"
- Michael Klibanov (University of North Carolina at Charlotte)
"Convexification Method in Inverse Problems"
- Matti Lassas (University of Helsinki)
"Mapping properties of neural networks and inverse problems"
- Barbara Wohlmuth (Technical University of Munich)
"Hybrid pde models for bio-medical applications"
During the conference, connections were established that will serve as a foundation for future research.
This participation is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 “Quality Education” (professional development and enhancement of academic mobility), SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” (advancement of modern technologies and scientific research), and SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals” (strengthening international scientific cooperation).
