The seminar "Effective use of generative AI" was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence. The event was attended by teachers, professors, doctoral students and young researchers.
Nurbol Beisov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of IT and AI for Research and International Cooperation, delivered a welcoming speech. He stressed that the development of competencies in the field of artificial intelligence is one of the main priorities of the university. Talshyn Sarsembayeva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, made a presentation on the topic "Artificial Intelligence: understanding, legal framework and data protection". According to her, it is necessary to learn how to work with AI in a way that "does not violate human rights and does not lose academic integrity. Technology will only be beneficial if we use it responsibly".

Asel Ospan, Senior lecturer at the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, focused on the technical side in her speech: "Large language models and transformers are the foundation of modern AI systems. It is important for students to understand that these are not abstract terms, but concrete tools that can change science, business and everyday life". In addition, the seminar highlighted the broad possibilities of generative AI for education and research.

According to the speakers, such technologies can speed up the learning process and help scientists work more efficiently. The participants emphasized that AI is an assistant, not a substitute for humans. The seminar ended with an interactive workshop where the students were able to put their knowledge into practice. The speakers demonstrated how to use AI in their professional activities, and the participants tried to work with the tools themselves.
