The exhibition, dedicated to Tehran City Day (October 6), was organized by the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty. Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies M.Sh. Egamberdiev opened the ceremony, noting in his speech that political, economic, and cultural ties between Iran and Kazakhstan have existed for a long time, and the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi KazNU also contributes to further strengthening these ties.

Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty Ms. Sona Ahmadi emphasized the special place this day holds in Iranian history. Tehran has been the capital of Iran since Agha Mohammad Khan ascended the throne in 1796. From that time to this day, the city has been the political arena for many important events in Iranian history. It was on this day in 1906, during the Constitutional Movement, that the Supreme National Council adopted the City Law. Thus, from that day on, the governance of Tehran was formally recognized, and October 6 was later designated Tehran Day.

PhD volunteer lecturer F. Shakiba, in turn, described Tehran as a hospitable city, presenting the city's cultural and historical landmarks. Scholar in Iranian studies B.K. Bazarkulova noted that Tehran is not just a city, but a symbol of the national identity of all Iranians, their struggles, and their contemporary lives.

Faculty and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, as well as guests from Iran, attended the exhibition's opening ceremony.
