The use of AI in collective rights management
A seminar on "Collective management of copyrights and other rights" has started at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The event was organized jointly with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Eurasian Economic Commission with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Erkin Duisenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board and First Vice–Rector of KazNU, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of the seminar, wishing the participants good luck. He noted the university's cooperation in the field of intellectual property and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education.

In turn, Gulnar Kaken, Deputy Chairman of the Intellectual Property Rights Committee of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that the development of a collective management system is an important tool for supporting creative industries and effectively protecting the rights of authors and performers. In her speech, she stressed the importance of improving the industry through digitalization.

Sylvie Forbin, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization, and Yernar Bakenov, Director of the Business Development Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, also joined the event with video evidence.

The participants of the meeting shared topical issues of the digital age, such as streaming, online platforms and cross-border licensing. Global trends in collective rights management were also discussed, and issues related to the development and digitalization of the collective rights management system were widely discussed.

The important event, scheduled for two days, will continue on October 17, and participants will discuss new ideas and proposals.
