New approaches to the study of well-being
The international scientific conference "Interdisciplinary approach in the study of human well-being: language, society, personality" has started at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. More than 150 reputable scientists and researchers from Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Albania are taking part in the large-scale event.
The conference was opened by Margulan Ibraimov, Member of the Board, Vice–Rector for Research and Innovation at KazNU. In his speech, the vice-rector of the university noted: "Today we are in a unique scientific space at the intersection of the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. The world is changing rapidly, and processes such as digitalization, globalization, migration flows and environmental challenges require a rethink of the concept of human well-being".

Viktor Koksharov, President of the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N.Yeltsin, delivered a video message at the solemn meeting. He shared his opinion on improving the quality of human life in the digital environment.

Professor, Scientific Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Turkology and Altaic Studies of KazNU, Nursultan Shaimerdenova, also made a presentation on the topic "Interlanguage and intercultural interaction as the basis of social well-being in the multiethnic society of Kazakhstan." In her speech, the scientist noted: "Interaction between languages and cultures strengthens unity and harmony in the multiethnic society of Kazakhstan, being an important basis for social stability and development".

At the plenary session, experienced experts presented reports, offering a comprehensive approach to the study of topical issues of human well-being from a linguistic, social and personal point of view. Historical, cultural, linguistic dimensions, socio-cultural, historical and psychological aspects of personality, traditional culture and its role in well-being, demographic factors, education and digitalization issues were widely discussed.

The work of the conference will continue in the framework of breakout sessions and will last until October 18.
The landmark scientific event was organized jointly by the Institute of Turkology and Altaistics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Ural Federal University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N.Yeltsin and the Ural Humanitarian Institute.
