Prevention of Youth Suicide: Causes and Solutions
As part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — Goal 10 “Reducing Inequality” and Goal 3 “Good Health and Well-Being” — a discussion session was held among 4-year students of the “Natural and Technogenic Risks” program based on a social survey. The topic of the session was: “Prevention of Youth Suicide: Causes and Solutions.”
The main purpose of the event was to strengthen the psychological resilience of young people, promote an understanding of the value of life, and foster a culture of social awareness and empathy toward pressing societal issues. During the discussion, students analyzed the key causes of suicide and examined the social, economic, and psychological factors that contribute to this problem. Participants also shared their personal perspectives and suggested concrete approaches to suicide prevention in society.
The event created an atmosphere of trust and mutual support among students, encouraging responsibility and readiness to help one another. Such discussions not only enhance the emotional well-being of youth but also promote their social engagement and contribute to the dissemination of moral and humanistic values in society.
