As part of the program, kaznu teachers studied the technological processes of uranium mining, geological exploration methods, gained experience in Radiation Control Laboratories. They mastered the methods of calibration of gamma spectrometers, measurement of Alpha and beta activity, analysis of water, air and soil samples.
It is known that these skills will play a key role not only for research, but also in ensuring the safe operation of nuclear power plants and Radiation Control in the future. The experience gained at the intersection of Science and education will be introduced into the educational process of KazNU. The content of such disciplines as "uranium business", "fundamentals of radiation safety", "gamma spectrometry", "dosimetry and illumination protection" will be updated and the practical training of students will be increased.
At the same time, the internship strengthened professional ties between scientists of kaznu and environmental engineers "Volkovgeologiya", opened up new opportunities for research projects, and contracts were concluded for practical experience and activities of students.
Currently, the issue of building a nuclear power plant in the country as a guide to the future is of strategic importance. This is not only an issue of ensuring energy security, but also a problem that requires a combination of high-tech science and production. From this point of view, we believe that the internship of kaznu teachers in Volkovgeology is not only a personal professional experience, but also a contribution to the future development of the country in the field of nuclear energy.
