Improving the quality of engineering education

Chairman of the Board-Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with Jose Carlos Quadrado, President of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Educational Programs (ENAEE).

During the negotiations, the parties discussed improving the quality of higher education and bringing engineering education programs in line with international standards.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev spoke about the achievements of the university in the field of engineering education, its scientific and innovative potential, and also emphasized the active participation of KazNU in international accreditation processes. He noted the ongoing work to improve curricula, develop students' practical skills and introduce sought-after educational models. In conclusion, the rector proposed to open a regional center of the European Accreditation Network for Central Asian countries on the basis of KazNU.

In turn, Jose Carlos Quadrado highly appreciated the international status of KazNU and expressed ENAEE's willingness to cooperate and exchange experience in the field of assessment and accreditation of engineering education.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to implement joint projects aimed at improving the quality of engineering training.
