“Green Biotechnologies for Sustainable Agriculture”
On November 4, the Department of Biotechnology held a scientific and practical Workshop titled “Green Biotechnologies for Sustainable Agriculture”, dedicated to discussing modern biotechnological solutions for food security and sustainable farming systems.
The event was organized within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 2 and No. 12:
SDG 2 — “Zero Hunger” — ensuring food security and improved nutrition;
SDG 12 — “Responsible Consumption and Production” — promoting sustainable use of natural resources and environmentally friendly technologies.
The Workshop was organized by PhD, Ms. M.A. Abdulzhanova and D.H. Shokatayeva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Biotechnology.
Third-year Biotechnology students actively participated, presenting their innovative ideas and research projects focused on sustainable agriculture and eco-friendly production.
Key topics discussed included:
* the use of green biotechnologies to increase crop yields and plant protection;
* development of eco-safe biofertilizers and biopesticides;
* recycling of organic waste and creation of closed-loop biosystems;
* innovative approaches for sustainable agricultural development.
The Workshop fostered scientific dialogue, collaboration, and awareness about responsible resource use. Participants emphasized that green biotechnologies are the foundation of future sustainable agriculture and food security.
“Green technologies — a green future!”
