One of the main criteria that has a positive impact on the rating and scientific potential of the educational institution is the involvement of foreign scientific and pedagogical personnel and specialists in the educational process. In this regard, the rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, professor Zhanseit Tuimebayev is actively expanding international cooperation with leading universities in the world, including universities in Southeast Asia. One of these partners is the University of Malaya (University of Malaya), which is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Malaysia. The University of Malaya is consistently ranked in the top 100 universities in the world and ranks 58th in the prestigious QS World University Rankings. The university is widely known for its high quality of teaching and achievements in research activities.

Attracting foreign teachers and researchers to the university is a much more complex process than recruiting foreign students. At the same time, the level of openness of the university to foreign professors, financial costs for the implementation of the program, political and geographical priorities of academic cooperation and many other factors are taken into account. It should be noted that the world's leading universities are distinguished by their international teaching staff and the share of foreign teachers is one of the most important indicators taken into account in the prestigious QS World University Rankings.

Deans of the law faculties of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Malaya University – professor Valikhan Akhatov and professor Jason Chua held a video conference in an online format. During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in specific areas of research and pedagogical activity. This trend is one of the main factors determining the academic reputation of the university, as well as the quality of educational programs and scientific research. The measures of the university management to attract highly qualified foreign specialists are an important step in the direction of developing the system of postgraduate education and increasing its competitiveness.
