“Climate and Water Security: Pathways to Sustainable Development”
On January 7, within the framework of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a free educational course on climate change and water security was organized and conducted jointly with the Institute of Geography for school teachers and members of the general public interested in climatology and water resources, outside the university campus.
The main objective of the course was to enhance teachers’ professional competencies, expand participants’ knowledge of climate processes, climate change, and water security, and foster environmental responsibility and a sustainable approach to the use of water resources.
As part of the program, participants learned about the causes and consequences of climate change, modern scientific approaches to studying climate processes, issues of efficient water resource management, and ensuring water security, as well as practical examples of adaptation and mitigation of climate risks at the regional level.
The implementation of this course contributed to strengthening cooperation between the Institute of Geography and educational organizations, increasing interest in climate and water security issues, and expanding access to quality free education in the field of sustainable development.
