SDG 16: “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions”

On December 14, 2024, senior lecturer of the Department of “Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law,” Aigerim Zhaksylykovna Zharbolova, together with first-year students of group 107, held a meeting on the topic of SDG No. 16: “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.”
Establishing justice and strong institutions is one of the key principles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The UN focuses on protecting the rights of all citizens, ensuring equal opportunities, and improving governance systems. These goals aim to create a society based on peace and justice.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development envisions the creation of a just, lawful, and inclusive society. The UN Strategic Plan for 2022–2025 places special emphasis on promoting justice and strong institutions. This plan offers comprehensive solutions to support effective public and social governance, strengthen the rule of law, and achieve justice and peace on a global scale.
Six key solutions have been proposed to implement a new generation policy in public institutions in areas such as peace, justice, the rule of law, stability, civil rights, and gender equality. These solutions aim to eliminate injustice in society, protect citizens’ rights, and ensure justice and equality for all.
Such events not only provide students with knowledge but also deepen their understanding of their role in building a society based on justice. This meeting increased the responsibility of future lawyers in protecting human rights and creating effective institutions.
