SDG №4: An Inspirational Evening at the Theatre: The play «Ulpan» Deepened the Students’ Spiritual Insight

Students and faculty members from the Faculties of Mechanics and Mathematics, Medicine and Health of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University visited the Gabit Musrepov State Academic Theatre for Children and Youth and watched the play «Ulpan», a production that captured the hearts of its audience. The event aimed to enrich the students’ spiritual world, cultivate their cultural and aesthetic taste, and foster their interest in the arts.

The performance encouraged the audience to reflect deeply. The character of Ulpan — her courage, sense of justice, humanity, and social responsibility — left a strong impression on the students. The actors’ sincere performances, character conflicts, and directorial choices made each scene engaging and thought-provoking.

After the performance, students discussed the themes raised in the play, relating them to their own lives. They particularly reflected on the importance of courage and justice, making correct decisions, and preserving moral values. According to the students, «Ulpan» is not merely a theatrical performance, but a work that encourages introspection and reflection on the surrounding world, offering important life lessons.

During the visit, students took commemorative photos with the actors and deepened their interest in stage art. Such cultural events broaden young people’s horizons, develop aesthetic taste, and positively influence spiritual growth.

The university plans to continue systematically organizing similar theatrical and cultural events, which contribute to the students’ spiritual and creative development.
