SDG 11. “National Clothing is the Mirror of the Nation”

From November 10 to 14, 2025, within the framework of SDG-11, the Faculty of Pre-University Education and the Department of Pre-University Training of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized an event entitled “Kazakh Youth – in National Dress at the National Theatre!” in support of the challenge “National Clothing is the Mirror of the Nation.” To promote the importance and value of national attire, students together with their instructors visited the national theatre.

The students watched the performance “Gypsy Serenade” and learned about the life and artistic path of the “King of the Waltz,” Shamshi Kaldayakov.

The purpose of the event was to support the “National Clothing is the Mirror of the Nation” challenge within SDG-11, to strengthen students’ respect for national values, to promote the meaning and significance of national clothing, to bring youth closer to cultural heritage, and to cultivate national spirit through art. In addition, the performance helped deepen young people's appreciation for national culture and the precious heritage of Kazakh music.
