“Economic Security and the Role of the Department of Economic Investigations: Key Insights from the Open Lecture”

On November 19, 2025, members of the “El Tutka” Debate Club, together with the club’s leader, Tlepbergenov Orynbasar, held an informative and insightful open lecture in collaboration with Myrzakhan Zhaksylyk, Senior Operative Officer for Especially Important Cases of the Department of Economic Investigations in Almaty.

During the lecture, students became thoroughly acquainted with the structure of the department, the procedures of its work, the categories of cases it investigates, and the preventive measures aimed at combating economic crimes. Myrzakhan Zhaksylyk shared real examples from his professional experience, explaining how economic violations are detected, the complexity of gathering evidence, and the high level of responsibility that investigative work requires.

He also highlighted the importance of economic security for the state, the mechanisms used to counter financial crimes, and the ethical and professional standards expected from officers working in this field.

The meeting was held in an interactive format: club members asked numerous legal, practical, and professional questions, receiving detailed and meaningful answers. This open dialogue made the lecture especially engaging and educational.

The students gained a deeper understanding of the role of the Department of Economic Investigations within the system of public administration and its significance in strengthening financial stability and public safety.
