Zhongnan University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Hold Meeting to Promote International Cooperation
On November 3, 2025, a delegation from the School of Journalism and Cultural Communication of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and the Department of Turkic Studies and Language Theory, Faculty of Philology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a meeting in the conference hall on the fifth floor of the Wenbo Building. The meeting was chaired by Ji Qun, Party Secretary of the School of Journalism and Cultural Communication. The two sides engaged in comprehensive discussions on issues such as jointly implementing a dual-degree master's program, scientific cooperation, and staff exchanges.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Ji Qun, Party Secretary, warmly welcomed her colleagues from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and wished them success in their joint endeavors. Ms. Ji Qun systematically introduced the faculty and teaching staff of the School of Journalism and Cultural Communication, as well as the distinctive features and achievements in their personnel training programs, expressing her interest in establishing a stable and effective cooperation with our university.
Dr. Raushangul Amirdinqyzy Avakova, Doctor of Philology and Professor, Head of the Department of Turkic Studies and Language Theory, and leader of the delegation from the Faculty of Philology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, expressed gratitude for the high-level courtesy extended by the Chinese side. She provided a comprehensive introduction to the university, faculty, and department, highlighting our scientific strengths and the faculty’s teaching staff. She particularly explained in detail the development and future plans of the foreign language and Chinese language programs, wishing success in establishing concrete and substantive collaboration in the field of language education.
During the meeting, Professor Tang Fei from the Department of Chinese Language at the School of Journalism and Cultural Communication provided a comprehensive explanation of the objectives of the international Chinese language education master’s program, its curriculum, admission and graduation requirements, as well as its future prospects. Associate Professor Zhu Hao, Head of the Department of Chinese Language, stated that the program fully meets the demand for highly qualified local Chinese language teachers in Kazakhstan and lays a solid foundation for promoting the dual-degree program.
During the discussion, Associate Professor Perizat Elubaeva, PhD in Pedagogy, PhD Associate Professor Sholpan Kudyarova, Senior Lecturer Sabira Matai, and Senior Specialist Nurbek Keneshkhan from the International Brand Marketing and Visa Support Center, representing the Department of Turkic Studies and Language Theory, Faculty of Philology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and from the Chinese side, Deng Zhen from the School of International Education and lecturer Tian Peilan from the Department of Chinese Language, engaged in substantive exchanges on key issues such as aligning the curriculum with the educational program and mechanisms for project coordination. They reached mutual agreements on the next steps for advancing the collaboration.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dean of the School of Journalism and Cultural Communication, Professor Yu Xucai, delivered a closing speech. He highly praised the outcomes of the negotiations with the Kazakh colleagues. Professor Yu Xucai emphasized his full support for joint projects with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, his active role in ensuring the concrete implementation of the agreements reached, and his commitment to assisting both sides in jointly advancing collaboration, as well as new achievements in humanitarian and educational exchanges.
After the meeting, the Chinese and Kazakh participants took a commemorative photo together, marking a new phase in the cooperation between the two universities. It was noted that the meeting had greatly contributed to mutual understanding and clarified the direction of collaboration, serving as an important step in promoting the international strategy of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law within the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative in education. Both sides expressed their shared intention to promptly implement the outcomes achieved during the meeting and to ensure the successful realization of joint projects in the near future.
