On November 18, 2025, a literary and educational musical evening titled “A Longing Stirs Within the Heart” was held in the large hall named after Ö.A. Zholdasbekov at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics.
The cultural event was organized by the Faculties of Mechanics and Mathematics, Information Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, as well as the Kasym Amanzholov Literary and Creative Association shared by these departments.
The guest of honor was poet and amateur composer Askhat Süýindik, a devoted guardian of lyrical music, poetry, and the national song tradition, and the author of many well-known compositions.
Askhat Süýindik is a naturally gifted poet whose talent runs in his family. As revealed during the event, young Askhat once dreamed of studying at the Faculty of Philology or Journalism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty to further develop his creativity. However, by family decision he began his studies in Semey. Even though he did not find a creative environment that suited him there and life’s circumstances might have pushed him into another field, he never abandoned his poetic nature, inherited with his very blood.
Songs written to his lyrics have entered the repertoire of popular Kazakh singers and gained recognition throughout the country. His own compositions, inspired by his natural musical talent, have become part of the national radio’s “golden collection” and a cultural treasure of the nation.
During the event, amateur composer E. Tokseiitov, as well as singers U. Kenzhebay and Zh. Qonyrov, performed melodic and soulful songs based on his poetry, earning warm applause from the audience.
The audience was deeply moved by the poet’s lyrical works on nature, love, emotions, and subtle feelings of the human soul. Students of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty — Zh. Bakytt and M. Beknazar — along with AT&AI students B. Azamatkyzy, B. Nurqan, and B. Nurqoyshiyev recited his poems with great expression, creating a heartfelt atmosphere.
The event was attended by students free from classes, active participants, department heads A.N. Temirbekov, A.N. Shormakova, and L.A. Sagymbayeva, as well as senior curators-advisers S.K. Tapeeva.
They noted the poet’s creative power, his strong civic spirit, and the emotional resonance of his poetry, leaving with deep spiritual inspiration.
