The ZhasTour team became a prizewinner of the Olympiad  

From November 19 to 22, in the city of Astana, the VIII International Olympiad on the techniques and tactics of active types of tourism was held, organized by the School of Tourism of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. On the first day of the Olympiad, the creative and theoretical stages took place: project defense, a video contest, as well as an orienteering competition. On the second day, rope technique competitions were held to assess the participants’ professional skills. On the third day, team distance races were conducted to evaluate the teams’ technique and endurance.

Based on the results of the Olympiad, the students of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, members of the “ZhasTour” team:

• Kazhyghali Meirambek – captain,
• Parimbai Meirkhan,
• Saparbek Bakdaulet,
• Nurkaparova Nurai,
• Tulegen Ali

achieved the following results:

• Video contest – 2nd place
• Project defense – 3rd place
• In the orienteering competition, Tulegen Ali took 2nd place
• Team distance race – 3rd place
• Overall team ranking – 3rd place

The team’s supervisor is Beisakhmet Azamat Almatuly, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism.
