An event introducing kimbap preparation and traditional Korean sports games was held at the Department of the Far East as part of Korean Week

On November 26, 2025, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a cultural and educational event on making kimbap was held as part of the “Korean Week,” organized by the lecturers of the Department of Far Eastern Studies.
         The main purpose of the event was to deepen students’ knowledge of Korean history, language, culture, and contemporary Korean society, to broaden their academic outlook, and to provide an opportunity for practical engagement with Korean culture.
         During the program, participants were shown the technology of preparing the Korean national dish—kimbap—and an interactive hands-on master class was organized. Students practiced all stages of the process, from preparing the ingredients to learning the techniques of rolling kimbap.
      In addition, traditional Korean sports games were held, allowing students to learn about their meaning and distinctive features. The organizers and participants emphasized the importance of intercultural interaction in strengthening cooperation among students.
