Abai’s Legacy in Chinese: Annual Student Contest Held

On November 27, 2025, the annual traditional contest titled “Expressive Reading of Abai’s Words of Wisdom and Poems in the Chinese Language” was held at a high level at Ablay Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages.

This creative event became an important platform for strengthening academic and cultural cooperation among students of leading universities in the city of Almaty. Students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, ZhenNPU, and other higher educational institutions took part in the competition. A total of 40 students participated.

As a result of the contest, Kanapiyauly Doskhan, a second-year student of the Department of Chinese Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, demonstrated a high level of performance and won third place.

The competition clearly showcased the participants’ language proficiency, their deep understanding of the great poet’s heritage, and their contribution to the development of cultural ties.
