TURKEY AND KAZNU: A NEW PARTNERSHIP, NEW OPPORTUNITIES
On December 1, 2025, an important international meeting took place at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Acting Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries, Ms. Khalel Agnur, held in-depth negotiations with the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazakhstan, Ms. Tugba Alan Ozdenfedakar, and the Education Attaché of Turkey in Kazakhstan, Mr. Ayhan Korkmaz, aimed at strengthening bilateral academic and educational cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to further enhance collaboration between Turkey and Kazakhstan in the fields of education, science, and culture. Priority areas included expanding academic mobility programs, increasing experience exchange between faculty members and students, organizing joint scientific projects, and deepening strategic partnership.
Ms. Khalel Agnur emphasized that international cooperation is important not only academically but also for cultural and professional development. According to her, student and young researcher internships in Turkey, participation in seminars, and joint research activities serve as effective tools for strengthening human capital.
Another key topic of discussion was the employment and professional integration of graduates of the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries. Agreements on potential cooperation with Turkish Airlines and RAMS were discussed, along with plans to support graduate employment and systematize student internships.
These initiatives are expected to strengthen students’ competitiveness, increase their employability, and expand their professional opportunities at the international level.
The Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University will continue to pursue strategic steps to develop international cooperation and experience exchange, further enhancing its reputation and influence in the educational sphere.
