The Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism's Birthday: Traditions and New Horizons

On December 1, 2025, the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism at Al-Farabi KazNU celebrated its 29th anniversary. The celebratory event took place in Auditorium BAZ-3, bringing together faculty, undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral students, and past graduates.

A special guest was our alumna, Akmaral Nurashovna Yeshanova, Deputy Head of the Almaty City Tourism Department. She emphasized the importance of training qualified personnel for Kazakhstan's tourism industry and wished the department continued development.

The event was organized by fourth-year students from the "Tourism" and "Restaurant and Hotel Business" programs, who prepared warm congratulations, creative performances, and interactive competitions. The festive atmosphere united generations: graduates shared memories and professional advice, while current students shared their plans and ideas. Over the years, the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism has become a center for training specialists capable of developing the country's tourism potential. 29 years is not only history but also a confident step into the future!
