A scholar from the Department of Chinese Studies presented the unique educational opportunities of Al-Farabi KazNU to prospective students from China

On 10 December, a large-scale online lecture dedicated to the educational opportunities of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was held, organised by leading Chinese educational platforms that annually showcase the world’s top universities to prospective students across China. The lecture was delivered by Associate Professor Fatimabibi Naukaikyzy Daulet — a sinologist, methodologist, and expert in international education, known for her long-standing contribution to promoting Kazakhstani higher education in the PRC. The virtual event brought together 150 highly motivated applicants from various regions of China, seeking to pursue undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies at Al-Farabi KazNU. Many of the participants have already demonstrated academic ambition, expressed interest in international mobility, and aim to receive a high-quality education at one of Central Asia’s leading universities. In her presentation, Dr. Daulet outlined the historical mission, development strategy, and key strengths of KazNU, emphasising the university’s stable position in international rankings, its extensive research potential, participation in global academic networks, and strong record of training highly skilled professionals. She also provided a detailed explanation of the admissions process, entry requirements, selection criteria, application deadlines, and the range of highly demanded academic programmes available to international students. The Chinese participants actively asked questions about student life, accommodation options, campus infrastructure, future employment prospects, research opportunities, scholarships, academic mobility programmes, and pathways for continuing education at international partner universities. All inquiries were met with comprehensive, professionally oriented answers, enabling the prospective students to form a clear understanding of the advantages of studying at KazNU. The event was marked by a high level of engagement and interest. Many attendees expressed their intention to maintain further contact with the university, join upcoming online consultations, and begin preparing their application materials in the near future. The outcomes of the session demonstrate that Al-Farabi KazNU continues to strengthen its position in the Chinese educational market and is becoming increasingly attractive to Chinese youth seeking high-quality international education, academic mobility, and strong professional development prospects.
