“The Western Vector in the Foreign Policy of Post-Soviet States.”

On December 12, 2025, the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in collaboration with the Institute for Security and Cooperation Studies and the Resource Center for American Democratic Studies, held an international scientific-practical conference titled “The Western Vector in the Foreign Policy of Post-Soviet States.”

This event, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Faculty, was aimed at a comprehensive discussion of current issues regarding cooperation between post-Soviet countries, Europe, and the USA within the context of modern geopolitical transformation.

Leading scholars and representatives of the expert community from Kazakhstan, the USA, France, Russia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan participated in the conference. The academic discussion examined geopolitical turbulence through the lens of emerging challenges and new opportunities, analyzed the potential and existing barriers in economic and energy partnerships, and addressed issues of security and diplomatic engagement. Special attention was paid to the role of the USA in shaping the geopolitical agenda of the post-Soviet region.
