SDG 4: A Series of Events Dedicated to Independence Day Was Held at KazNU

On the eve of Independence Day, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a comprehensive and large-scale series of educational and awareness-raising events. The primary objective of these initiatives was to strengthen patriotic values among students, deepen their understanding of the history of independence, and foster respect for national values.

As part of the festive program, a number of open curatorial sessions were held on topics such as “The Dawn of Independence,” “National Spirit and the History of Independence,” “Honoring History — A Legacy for the Future,” “Lessons of Independence: Spirit, Consciousness, and Responsibility for the Future,” “Our Hearts Beat for Independence,” “Independence as the Pillar of the Nation,” “Independent Kazakhstan,” “We Are the Youth of an Independent Country,” “Independence as the Source of National Prosperity,” “The Image of Power and Greatness,” and others.

In addition, round-table discussions were organized on the topics “December 16, 1991 — The Day of Freedom and Independence,” “Independence Above All,” and “The Spirit of Zheltoksan as the Beginning of Independence.” These discussions provided a comprehensive review of the formation of independent Kazakhstan, the historical significance of the December 1986 events, and the key stages of national development.

Within the framework of the celebrations, students actively participated in video greetings, flash mobs, and educational visits to museums. A historical and educational quiz entitled “Independent Kazakhstan” was also held. As part of the “16 Facts about Kazakhstan” challenge, students shared interesting facts about the country on social media platforms.

The series of events concluded with a festive evening entitled “Independence with Deep Roots.” Furthermore, students residing in university dormitories carried out decorative activities, creating a special festive atmosphere and emphasizing the significance of Independence Day.

Overall, these events significantly contributed to enhancing students’ civic responsibility, strengthening national spirit, and fostering a deeper understanding of the values of independent Kazakhstan.
