Open Curatorial Hour «Independence of Kazakhstan: History, Values, and Civic Responsibility» Dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On December 10, 2025, Zubova O.A., advisor of the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development and curator of the 2nd-year students of the educational program «6B05202 – Ecology» (Russian department), held an open curatorial hour entitled «Independence of Kazakhstan: History, Values, and Civic Responsibility», dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was organized within the framework of SDG 16. «Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions», aimed at fostering civic responsibility, patriotism, and an active civic position among young people.
During the meeting, the advisor reminded students of the history of Kazakhstan’s independence, the stages of the country’s formation, and emphasized the significance of the December 1986 events in shaping the civic awareness of youth.
Students actively participated in discussions on issues related to state development, current challenges, and Kazakhstan’s achievements on the international stage.
In addition, an engaging quiz dedicated to important historical dates and events was organized.
The students demonstrated great interest, actively expressed their opinions, and enthusiastically took part in the discussion.
At the conclusion of the event, Zubova O.A. highlighted the civic and patriotic significance of Independence Day and emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory.
