Parliamentarism: legal basis, path of development and image of the future

On 12/19/2025 in Astana, the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the Eurasian Forum dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of Parliamentarism “Parliamentarism: legal basis, path of development and image of the future”. The issues of the theoretical and legal foundations of parliamentarism, the improvement of legislative activity, the role of parliamentary control and the development of parliamentarism in the context of modern challenges were widely discussed at the forum.

Guldana Amangeldievna Kuanalieva, Head of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Law, Professor, took part in this Eurasian Forum. In her speech, Professor G. A. Kuanalieva noted the importance of parliamentarism in the formation of the rule of law and noted that the improvement of legislation in the field of financial, customs and environmental law is closely linked to the activities of parliament. The Professor also stressed the urgency of strengthening cooperation between the scientific community and the legislative body.
