The “Silk Road” Conference Hall Opened at the Faculty of Oriental Studies

On December 25, 2025, a ceremonial opening of the “Silk Road” Conference Hall took place at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, with sponsorship support from Fu Jian Haina Education Technology Group.

This project, aimed at supporting education and research in the field of Chinese Studies, is the result of a partnership between the Department of Chinese Studies and Fu Jian Haina Education Technology Group.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Margulan Kassenovich Ibraimov, Member of the Board and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Mr. Wu Keping, Chairman of Fu Jian Haina Education Technology Group. The event was also attended by Ms. Huang Xiaomin, Education Consul of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty. Veteran professors of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, faculty members, and students also witnessed the long-awaited opening of the conference hall.

On behalf of the university, Margulan Kassenovich Ibraimov presented a letter of appreciation to Mr. Wu Keping, Chairman of Fu Jian Haina Education Technology Group.

Fully funded by Fu Jian Haina Education Technology Group, the “Silk Road” Conference Hall is expected to revive the spirit of the Great Silk Road that once connected ancient civilizations and to become a new center for academic dialogue and scholarly exchange.

This conference hall will further strengthen educational, scientific, and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and China and will serve as an important platform for future specialists in Oriental Studies and Chinese Studies.

This initiative represents a significant step toward enhancing cultural and academic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
