I International Scientific Conference "Sustainable Future: Integrated Development of Earth Sciences and Ecology" Azerbaijan, Baku

On December 23–24, 2025, the 1st International Scientific Conference “Sustainable Future: Integrated Development of Earth Sciences and Ecology” was held. The conference was jointly organized by Baku State University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (https://farabi.university/?lang=ru), Satbayev University, Konya Technical University (Türkiye), Banat University of Veterinary Medicine (Romania), and the University of Geological Sciences (Uzbekistan).

The aim of the conference was to discuss scientific results in the fields of green education, green economy, green chemistry and waste-free technologies, the impact of global climate change on the environment and sustainable development, geochemistry, mineralogy, geodynamics, hydrogeology, seismology, digital mapping, aerospace research methods, urbanization, migration, geographic information systems, agroecological issues, and soil science at the international level, as well as to identify innovative directions and new research priorities.

The conference brought together 268 speakers from 32 foreign countries, representing various universities and research centers, and was held in a hybrid format (offline–online).

From Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (https://farabi.university/?lang=ru), presentations were delivered by the Head of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development T.A. Bazarbayeva, as well as faculty members B.E. Shimshikov, Z.A. Tukenova, G.A. Mukanova, and B.H. Tusupova. In addition, T.A. Bazarbayeva, G.A. Mukanova, and B.H. Tusupova served as moderators of the conference sections.

Scientific areas of the conference:

  3. Fertility, agroecological problems and rational use of land 
  4. Minerals, petrology, geochemistry and mineralogy 
  5. Hydrogeology, melioration, seismology and geological-geophysical research 
  6. Climate change, water resources and landscape transformation
  7. Creation of geospatial data infrastructure, geographic information systems, problems of urbanization and tourism

Within the framework of the conference, productive meetings and discussions were held, resulting in agreements on further scientific cooperation.
