Memorandum signed with Urumqi Bar Association
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a meeting between Deputy Chairman of the Board, First Vice–Rector Erkin Duisenov and a delegation from the Urumqi City Bar Association (PRC). The visit of representatives of the Chinese legal community ended with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation, which opens up new opportunities for academic and professional exchange between the two countries.

Welcoming the guests, Erkin Duisenov stressed that KazNU is today a key platform for scientific diplomacy, combining the intelligence and technology of Kazakhstan and China as part of a new stage of strategic partnership. The First Vice-rector noted that the university actively cooperates with 94 organizations in China, including leading universities in Beijing and Shanghai. According to him, cooperation in the field of science and education is becoming not just a bridge between countries, but also a foundation for building a sustainable future. He also drew attention to the successes in digitalization and scientific and innovative activities, mentioning the work of joint laboratories and a branch of NWPU.
In turn, Jin Xiaomeng, Chairman of the Urumqi City Bar Association, Director of the Yuejing Ink Law Company, noted the Chinese side's deep interest in strengthening legal ties. In his speech, he stressed the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge and legal practice. Jin Xiaomeng noted that cooperation with a leading university in Kazakhstan will create an effective platform for the exchange of experience between practicing lawyers and scientists, which is especially important in the context of active cross-border economic cooperation. He expressed hope that joint initiatives would help lawyers from both countries better understand the specifics of national legislation.
The meeting resulted in the signing of a memorandum that consolidated agreements on the implementation of projects on academic mobility, teacher exchange and joint expert research. The agreement provides for active cooperation in the training of a new generation of legal personnel capable of working in the international legal field. The parties expressed confidence that this union would be an important step in the development of legal science and the strengthening of good-neighborly relations.
