Scientific Cooperation in the Field of Seismology
A working meeting aimed at developing interdisciplinary scientific cooperation was held at the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research, operating under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The meeting was attended by Professor Asima Galymzhankyzy of the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics and PhD doctoral student Aktoty Utepovna. During the meeting, a constructive bilateral discussion took place with the Head of the Center, Zhapsarbay Sultanbekov Sultanbekovich.
The Head of the Center provided a detailed overview of the institution’s key areas of activity, the current state of the seismic monitoring system, and the experience in organizing scientific research.
The main focus of the discussions was the establishment of a joint scientific laboratory and the implementation of collaborative projects in the fields of seismology and natural-technogenic risk assessment. Particular attention was given to the training of young specialists, enhancement of scientific capacity, exchange of expertise, and the conduct of applied research.
The parties emphasized that such cooperation would contribute to improving the quality of scientific research, strengthening disaster prevention systems, and enhancing seismic safety. It was also noted that the integration of science and education plays a crucial role in assessing and managing natural and technogenic risks in the country.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue joint activities within specific projects and to further develop sustainable scientific partnerships.
