On January 27, 2026, a curatorial hour on the topic «Artificial Intelligence and Ecology: Opportunities and Challenges of the Modern Era» was held in Room 429 for second-year students of the educational program «6B05202 – Ecology». The event was conducted by the group advisor Zubova O.A.

The curatorial hour was devoted to discussing the role of artificial intelligence in addressing current environmental challenges and its significance for sustainable development. During the meeting, students examined examples of AI applications in environmental monitoring, analysis of environmental data, forecasting of natural and anthropogenic processes, as well as in decision-making within the field of environmental protection.

Special attention was paid to issues of sustainable use of natural resources, improving the effectiveness of environmental management, and risks associated with digital technologies, including energy consumption and carbon footprint. The discussion addressed aspects related to Sustainable Development Goal 13 «Climate Action» and Sustainable Development Goal 15 «Life on Land», particularly the use of innovative technologies for ecosystem monitoring, prevention of environmental degradation, and enhancement of adaptive capacity.

The format of the event encouraged active student participation, including work in small groups, analysis of problem-based situations, and discussions on the professional responsibility of environmental specialists when using digital tools and artificial intelligence. The curatorial hour contributed to the development of students’ environmental awareness, digital literacy, and understanding of the role of future professionals in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
