Weekend Hike to the Butakov Waterfall

On February 1, the “ZhasTour” club of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism organized a weekend hiking trip. The event was initiated by department instructors A.A. Beisakhmet and B.S. Adilbay and was held along the route to the Butakov Waterfall, located near the city of Almaty.

The event was organized within the framework of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals No. 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and No. 4 (Quality Education).

First-year students of the department took part in the hike, where they became familiar with safety rules in winter mountain conditions. In addition, the students observed training sessions of professional alpinists in ice climbing, which contributed to the enhancement of their practical and professional skills.

Such practice-oriented activities allow students to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience and increase their professional interest as future specialists.
