International Conference "CONTEMPORARY MIGRATION PROCESSES IN EURASIA: TRENDS AND CHALLENGES"

The Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University invites you to participate in the International Conference Contemporary Migration Processes in Eurasia: Trends and Challenges” which will be held on April 17-18, 2026.

The aim of this event is to strengthen multilateral dialogue on international migration in the context of new realities and sustainable development. The conference will discuss current theoretical and practical aspects of migration processes in the Eurasian region, analyze recent trends, and develop approaches to understanding the key challenges associated with international and internal migration.

Representatives of the expert and scientific community, practitioners, representatives of international organizations and government agencies are invited to participate.

The main areas of the conference:

·         Modern migration processes: trends, directions, dynamics, forecasts;

·         Migration, security and sustainable development in the Eurasian space: the experience of Central Asian countries;

·         The impact of migration on international relations and regional security;

·         State migration policy and mechanisms for regulating migration;

·         The role of diasporas and compatriots in changing socio-economic and political realities: conceptual approaches and international experience;

·         Regional and international cooperation mechanisms;

·         Demographic development: trends and global experience.

 

The conference will highlight links with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - SDG 10 (reducing inequality) and SDG 17 (partnerships for the goals) - to achieve common goals.

The event will be held in a hybrid format.

The conference will be held with the support of the Regional Resource Centre for Information about the UN FIR.

Working languages of the round table: Kazakh, English, Russian.

The organizing committee does not cover flights, accommodation and other expenses of participants.
