4 february, 2026

The “Chinese Language Corner,” organized within the framework of the “Silk Road” student club at the Department of Chinese Studies, continues its activities. The regular session held on February 3 under the guidance of first-year students’ curator-advisor Baiserke Aizhan was dedicated to the traditional Chinese New Year celebration.

During the event, Chinese students shared informative insights into the traditions and customs associated with celebrating the Chinese New Year. In turn, Kazakh students spoke about the features of the traditional New Year of the Kazakh people — the Nauryz holiday — comparing cultural similarities and differences between the two nations.

Throughout the session, students learned new vocabulary and language expressions related to the New Year theme, thereby enriching their linguistic competence. Characterized by high educational and cultural value, the meeting proved to be productive and beneficial for students from both countries.
