"The Role of Women and Men in Modern Society."

On February 6, Nazgul Tilepbergenovna Yedenova, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature, and first-year students majoring in Journalism, held an event to implement Sustainable Development Goal 5 - "Gender Equality" on the topic "The Role of Women and Men in Modern Society." The goal of the event was to develop students' understanding of the principles of gender equality, foster respect for the social roles of women and men, and raise awareness of the importance of equal rights and opportunities in society.

 The event addressed the following topics:

• the concept of gender equality and its significance in the modern world;

 • the social roles of women and men in the family, society, and the professional sphere;

 • gender stereotypes and ways to overcome them;

• the contribution of women and men to the development of society and sustainable development. The event was held in the format of discussion, dialogue, and exchange of opinions.

      The students actively participated in the discussion, expressing their own views and analyzing examples from public life and the media, which is especially relevant for future journalists.

     Following the event, the participants concluded that gender equality is an essential condition for the sustainable development of society, and that the equal participation of women and men in all spheres of life contributes to social justice, economic growth, and harmonious development. The event helped broaden the students' horizons, develop critical thinking, and foster a civic stance based on the principles of equality and respect for human rights.
