A scientific and methodological seminar was held at the Department of Turkish Studies and History of the Eastern Countries

On February 10, 2026, an academic and methodological seminar titled “Documentation Requirements for Doctoral Candidates Applying for Dissertation Defense and the Procedure for Their Preparation” was held by N.N. Kairanbayeva, Associate Professor-Researcher of the Department of Turk’sh Studies and History of Eastern Countries and Academic Secretary of the Dissertation Council of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

The purpose of the seminar was to familiarize doctoral candidates with the documentation requirements for submitting a dissertation for defense, to explain the procedures for preparing the required documents, and to prevent common organizational issues encountered during the defense process.

During the seminar, the regulatory and legal framework for applying for dissertation defense, the main set of documents required for submission, the requirements for their proper formatting, as well as the procedural stages preceding the defense were comprehensively discussed. Participants were also provided with practical explanations on common mistakes made during document preparation and ways to avoid them.

 

 

Doctoral candidates, academic supervisors, and faculty members took part in the event. At the end of the seminar, a question-and-answer session was organized, during which participants received responses to their relevant questions.

This academic seminar was conducted as an important event aimed at improving doctoral candidates’ preparedness for dissertation defense and ensuring proper compliance with procedural requirements.
