Within the framework of the «Law and Order» principle: «Cuber Guard» – Protection Against Cybercrime and Phishing: A Legal Guideline for Students

On February 13, a meaningful event titled «Cuber Guard» – a legal guideline on protection against cybercrime and phishing within the framework of the “Law and Order” principle was organized for students by the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The main purpose of the event was to enhance students’ digital literacy, prevent online threats, and broadly promote the principles of law and order. Experienced law enforcement officers participated and provided concrete examples of types of cybercrime, fraud schemes, phishing attacks, and methods of protection.

The speakers included: Captain of Police G.U. Butakulov, Deputy Head for Personnel Affairs of the Police Department under the Bostandyk District Police Administration; Senior Lieutenant of Police R.B. Toktarbekov, Operative Officer of the Cybercrime Prevention Department of the Almaty City Police Department;

Police Major S.B. Rakhmatullaev, Head of the Administrative Police Department of the Bostandyk District Police Administration, who spoke about road traffic safety, explained the importance of following traffic rules, and demonstrated thematic video materials.

In addition, juvenile affairs officers conducted explanatory work on preventing offenses among minors and ensuring compliance with legal requirements during nighttime hours.

During the meeting, students asked questions and received practical advice on protecting personal data online, identifying suspicious links and messages, and maintaining safety on social networks.

Such informative events contribute to strengthening legal awareness among young people and encourage responsible behavior in today’s digital society. The «Cuber Guard» project is an important step toward building a safe and responsible community.
