Opening of the Kazakhstan-Singapore Center for Quantum Technologies at KazNU
On February 13, 2026, the grand opening of the Kazakhstan-Singapore Center for Quantum Technologies took place at Farabi Hub under the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event brought together over 60 participants, including representatives of government bodies, industry experts, members of the scientific community, and international partners.
The opening was moderated by Nurzada Abdibekovna Beisen, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, and marked an important step in the development of the national quantum ecosystem as well as in strengthening scientific collaboration between Kazakhstan and Singapore.
The program began with a welcome for the guests and an official opening speech by Zhansseit Kanseituly Tuimebayev, Rector of KazNU and Chairman of the University Board. Guests were greeted by the university’s image group, who welcomed participants in traditional national costumes, creating a festive and hospitable atmosphere. At the entrance, all attendees were welcomed by the Farab Ethno Ensemble, performing traditional musical pieces, immediately setting a celebratory mood.
The highlight of the event was the ceremonial opening of the center, including the ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a demonstration of the center’s capabilities and a guided tour for guests led by the Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology. The official program concluded with a commemorative photo session.
The opening of the Kazakhstan-Singapore Center for Quantum Technologies was a significant event for KazNU and the scientific community of Kazakhstan, highlighting the university’s role as a leader in innovation, international collaboration, and cultural hospitality in the field of advanced technologies.
