Discussion Held on the Book ‘Alash Lawyers’ at Al-Farabi University

A book discussion dedicated to Alash Lawyers was held for students at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The author of the book, Abzal Kuspan, is a well-known public figure in Kazakhstan, a prominent attorney and an experienced legal scholar.

The event was organized within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and was held in accordance with Quality Education (SDG 4) and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16).

The purpose of the event was to introduce students to the legal activities of the figures of the Alash movement, to explain their historical role in the formation of Kazakh statehood, and to highlight their contribution to the development of legal thought.

During the discussion, particular attention was paid to the content and central objectives of the book. Senior Lecturer of the Department of Chinese Studies, A.E. Kerimbay, delivered a presentation on the legal views of the Alash intellectuals, their commitment to the rule of law, and their efforts to defend the idea of national autonomy. He emphasized that in contemporary Kazakh society it is especially important to promote national legal figures, properly assess their historical role, and raise public awareness about their legacy. The book was noted as an important scholarly and educational work contributing to a deeper understanding of history among the younger generation.

Students had the opportunity to learn about key stages in the development of Kazakh legal history. Such academic events contribute to strengthening historical consciousness, deepening understanding of national legal heritage, and fostering scholarly interest among youth.
