A Leadership Lecture within the Framework of the Sustainable Development Goals Was Held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

On February 18, 2026, the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a leadership lecture titled “Quality Education as a Guarantee of a Bright Future” within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The event was initiated by second-year students of the Oriental Studies and Foreign Philology programs of the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries.

The main objective of the event was to comprehensively analyze ways to enhance the quality of the education system in the context of the information society and digital transformation. Particular attention was given to the scientific-theoretical and pedagogical foundations of applying information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence, online and hybrid learning models, STEM education, and digital educational resources, as well as to assessing their effectiveness in developing students’ research competencies and digital literacy.

The initiative was supported by the Eurasian Research Institute and Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, which participated as partner organizations.

Within the framework of the program, digital technologies used in the educational process were analyzed, methodological recommendations for implementing online and hybrid learning models were developed, opportunities for using artificial intelligence and digital educational resources were explored, and activities aimed at increasing students’ scientific and cognitive engagement through STEM education were carried out.

The event brought together students, faculty members, and representatives of international partner organizations. Among the participants were the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies for social and educational affairs N. Sharipkazy, Head of the Department and Acting Associate Professor A. Khalel, Senior Lecturers Zh. Abeldaev and A. Kyrkymbekova, Deputy Director of the Eurasian Research Institute Cengizhan Canaltay, and Professor Savaş Şahin from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University.

During the event, curator A. Kyrkymbekova and students delivered presentations on topical issues, emphasizing the strategic importance of quality education in shaping the country’s future.

The leadership lecture became a significant step toward supporting innovative initiatives within the university’s educational environment and strengthening international cooperation.
