Recommendation letter

6 march, 2026

To whom it may concern,

It is a great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation in strong support of Anel Kulzhabay for admission to the "Clinical Neuroscience" Master’s program at King’s College London. As the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, I have had the opportunity to observe Anel’s academic progress, professional development, and personal growth throughout her medical education, and I can confidently state that she is among the most capable and motivated students of her cohort.

Anel completed her Bachelor of Healthcare (General Medicine) with a strong academic record (GPA 3.44/4.00) and is currently continuing her training as a medical intern in General Medical Practice, maintaining excellent academic performance. From the earliest stages of her education, she distinguished herself through intellectual discipline, analytical depth, and a genuine scientific curiosity about the mechanisms underlying neurological and systemic diseases. She consistently sought to understand not only clinical manifestations, but also the neurobiological and pathophysiological processes responsible for disease progression, reflecting a mindset ideally suited for advanced study in clinical neuroscience.

Her academic excellence is reflected in numerous achievements, including winning prizes at student olympiads and international scientific conferences. Notably, she became a winner of the International Student Olympiad of the School of General Medicine, dedicated to the Day of Science, as well as a prize-winner at conferences such as “Life after COVID-19” and “The World of Farabi”. These accomplishments demonstrate her ability to analyze complex scientific information, formulate evidence-based conclusions, and present her ideas clearly and confidently in academic settings.

In parallel with her academic success, Anel has been actively involved in scientific research. She is the author of the peer-reviewed publication “Cognitive dysfunction in patients with chronic tinnitus,” presented at the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Science, Technology and Innovation: Vectors of Transformation” in Berlin, Germany. This work highlights her ability to investigate the relationship between neurological function and clinical symptomatology, analyze cognitive impairments associated with chronic neurological conditions, and contribute meaningful insights to an evolving field of neuroscience. Her active participation in this international scientific forum further demonstrates her initiative, academic maturity, and readiness to engage with the global research community. Additionally, her earlier publication on allergic anamnesis in the Herald of the Medical Center of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan reflects her solid foundation in biomedical research methodology, statistical analysis, and scientific writing.

Anel has also gained extensive clinical experience through rotations in major hospitals in Almaty, including multidisciplinary departments and emergency care settings. She demonstrated professionalism, responsibility, and strong clinical reasoning while taking patient histories, participating in diagnostic discussions, and assisting in patient management. Her regular on-call duties since her fourth year of medical school further reflect her resilience, maturity, and ability to function effectively in demanding clinical environments.

Beyond her academic and clinical accomplishments, Anel is a socially responsible and proactive individual. Her participation in the League of Volunteers of Kazakhstan and involvement in environmental and social initiatives reflect her strong ethical values, teamwork skills, and commitment to serving society—qualities essential for a future scientist and academic leader.

I fully support Anel’s application to the Clinical Neuroscience MSc program at King’s College London. I am confident that she possesses the intellectual ability, scientific curiosity, and personal integrity required to excel in your rigorous academic environment. I strongly believe that she will make valuable contributions to your academic community and will develop into an outstanding neuroscientist and researcher.

If you have any further questions regarding her background or qualifications, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Faithfully yours,

Kalmakhanov Sundetgali Berkinuly
