An open educational event, dedicated to World Cancer Day in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal 3, "Good Health and Well-being," was held on February 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM in Room 305 of the Higher School of Medicine, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (96, Tole Bi Street). The event was attended by students of the English-language group GM 26-02 (1st year, 1st semester, spring batch, speciality Medicine) and the event organisers: PhD, Acting Associate Professor Ilya Vladimirovich Pinskiy, PhD, Teacher Syrgabek Yerkanat Arkynuly, Master of Pedagogical Sciences, Teacher Urnesh Nurzhigit Omirbekuly, and Master of Natural Sciences, Teacher Meirbekov Nurkanat Ayazbayuly. The open lesson consisted of a short video lecture followed by a discussion with students about the causes, mechanisms, and prevention measures of cancer. The event was very successful because all students were interested and satisfied with the topic, and we have achieved all the stated objectives.
