On March 10, a public lecture titled “Encouraging Youth to Work: The Foundation of National Education” was held in Lecture Hall 421. The event was organized by the Department of Turkology and the History of Eastern Countries of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. The lecture was attended by the head of the department, faculty members, master’s and doctoral students.

The lecture was delivered by senior lecturer Zh. A. Abildayev. The main aim of the event was to encourage students to develop a positive attitude toward work and to examine the importance of labor education in connection with national traditions.

The informative and engaging lecture attracted significant interest from students and became a platform for open discussion. Participants shared their views on modern youth attitudes toward work, the impact of technology, and the importance of preserving national values.

First-year student Daulet Alan noted that the desire of modern youth to earn money quickly is largely influenced by the demands of the modern era. According to him, the rapid development of technology provides new opportunities for young people. In particular, the use of artificial intelligence can be considered a modern and effective form of work.

Second-year student Aisylbek Aiganym emphasized the importance of maintaining national values in labor education. She noted that regardless of changes in time, national upbringing has always been at the core of Kazakh traditions. She also suggested introducing a special school course aimed at early vocational and labor education.

Third-year student Khairolla Dana highlighted the need for a state-level program aimed at encouraging youth to work. She stated that in the context of rapid social development, it is important to cultivate work skills among children and young people from an early age. For this purpose, various educational and practical activities should be organized in preschool institutions.

Overall, the lecture provided a comprehensive discussion on the importance of labor education, the connection between national values and modern opportunities, and the role of youth in society. Such events contribute to broadening students’ perspectives and developing a responsible attitude toward work.

The lecture organized by the Faculty of Oriental Studies became an important step toward promoting diligence among young people and strengthening national values.
