China–Central Asia Publishing Center Opens at KazNU

On March 16, 2026, the official opening ceremony of the China–Central Asia Publishing Center was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The center is an international platform for publishing cooperation established through a joint initiative of Xi’an Jiaotong University Press (PRC) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The main goal of the center is to strengthen cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in the fields of education, publishing, and culture, as well as to promote scientific and academic collaboration. The initiative creates new opportunities for publishing international research, exchanging experience, and implementing joint projects.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty Su Fangqiu, Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University Cai Wei, and Director of the Central State Archive Sabit Shildebayev.

During the event, participants discussed future development prospects and emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral academic and educational cooperation. The opening of the center was recognized as an important step marking a new stage in regional and international academic partnership.

Faculty members and students of the Department of Chinese Studies also actively participated in the event, demonstrating strong academic interest in developing international cooperation with China.
