The ceremony of awarding the winners of the XII Summer Universiade was held at KazNU

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the XII Summer Universiade.

Today, all over the world, the issues of well-being, preservation and enhancement of people's health are more relevant than ever. These tasks are included in the sustainable development strategy followed by the countries of the world. KazNU is the leader in the international Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings-2023 for all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A large number of scientific and educational projects of the country's leading university are being implemented within the framework of the SDGs, touching upon the issues of improving the quality of life, strengthening the health of the nation and preserving the environment.

As part of the Universiade in Aktau, more than three thousand students from all universities of the country took part in competitions in 20 sports. According to the results of the XII Summer Universiade, the athletes of KazNU won 88 medals in the team competition and became the owners of the Grand Prix.

At the solemn event, the Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuymebayev congratulated the athletes on their victory and thanked them for increasing the prestige of the university.

“In this competition, the athletes of KazNU climbed the podium of victory, having won 88 medals. In particular, our athletes won 36 gold, 27 silver and 22 bronze medals. On my own behalf and the staff of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, I sincerely congratulate you on your bright victories! Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi is constantly achieving great success in student sports. You have raised the prestige and defended the honor of the university. This is your merit and your coaches. In this regard, all athletes and coaches who participated in the XII Summer Universiade will receive a special reward,” the rector said.
