Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

October 16, 2023 at 11 o'clock in the 329 auditorium an open lecture was held by the senior lecturer of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, PhD Yerezhepkyzy Rose on the topic "State regulation of land use and protection". The lecture was attended by teachers of the Department Ph.D., Associate Professor Ashyralieva Bayan Sovetbekovna, senior lecturer Yesekeeva Ainash Akimsalovna.
During the lecture, students and teachers of the University got acquainted with the peculiarities of state regulation of the use and protection of land and the formation of relevant legislation in recent years. The specifics of the topic were revealed by the lecturer using practical examples. The lecture also highlighted the issues of sustainable land management, which is one of the key actions to achieve the goals of the SDGs set by the UN. In particular, the earth is a fundamental resource for solving the problems of climate change, preserving biodiversity, maintaining ecosystem services and at the same time ensuring universal prosperity and well-being. 
The lecture aroused genuine interest among the audience, and in its final part, a small controversy even unfolded in the question-answer mode.
In the future, the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law plans to expand the involvement of industrial practitioners facing current problems in the field of land and environmental law in conducting open lectures.
