On January 23, a meeting with Kazakhstani Iranists was held at the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty. Iranists who took part in the event were representatives of various fields, in particular, teachers of KazNU named after al-Farabi, Abay National Pedagogical University, Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University, scientists from the Academy of Sciences, the Rare Book Fund, employees of the Rare Book Fund of the National Library journalists from the Fars News agency, representatives of various companies. During the meeting with Consul General M. Faghani and the head of the Cultural Representation of the Consulate General, Mr. H. Aghazadeh, ways to improve the teaching of the Persian language in Kazakhstan were discussed. Mr. M. Faghani reported that after the meeting held 2 years ago, it was possible to reopen the Iranian cultural representation in Almaty, and Dr. F. Shakiba was invited to teach the Persian language at al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The following proposals were made by Iranists: the creation of an Association of Kazakh Iranists, teaching Persian in colleges, supporting Persian language teachers, translating Iranian TV series and films into Kazakh, translating modern Persian prose, etc.
